47 Meters Down: Uncaged is a standalone sequel to 47 Meters Down, directed by Johannes Roberts and written by Roberts and Ernest Riera in 2019. (2017). The film begins in Yucatan, Mexico, at a girls' school. Catherine pushes Mia into the water . Sasha , Mia's stepsister, refuses to support her and even denies being her sister. Sasha's mother Jennifer , who married Mia's father Grant, picks them up. Sasha tells her parents that none of the other girls like Mia, and the latter confirms that the two are not sisters.

Grant shows Mia a shark tooth he discovered on one of his cave-diving adventures over lunch, and he presents it to her because she shares his interest in such finds. Mia and Sasha are informed that they are scheduled to go on a boat to see the sharks, which upsets Sasha because she had planned to spend the day with friends. Grant and his two assistants, Ben and Carl , drop the girls off before heading off on another cave-diving adventure. Catherine is there with her pals, which the girls notice. Alexa and Nicole, Sasha's friends, arrive to get her out of there. She reluctantly persuades Mia to accompany her, knowing that she would rather be anywhere than with Catherine. Catherine is given the finger by the girls, and they leave. When the movie goes on, the members will be reduced due to the attack of the shark and in the end only Mia and Sasha survive. Rest all will become prey for the shark.
