On the fateful night of Thursday, September 21, at approximately 11 p.m., emergency responders rushed to the scene along Highway 6, southwest of I-80, following a distressing report of a collision involving multiple motorcycles and at least one car.
According to Capt. John Vik of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded as three motorcycles were trailed by two cars, both traveling side by side in a westward direction. It was reported that both cars suddenly decelerated, prompting one of the bikers to make an abrupt stop. This unforeseen chain of events led to a series of collisions involving the three riders and one of the cars.
In the aftermath, all three motorbike riders tragically lost control and were involved in crashes, as detailed in a press release from the sheriff’s office.
Regrettably, Bradley Krutz, a 55-year-old Lincoln biker, lost his life at the scene, confirmed by Vik. Additionally, a 22-year-old from Lincoln and a 60-year-old from Murdock, both riding motorcycles, sustained injuries. Fortunately, their wounds were not life-threatening, and they were transported to a Lincoln hospital for medical attention, as per Vik’s report.
The drivers of both cars involved in the incident remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Presently, no arrests have been made, nor have any citations been issued.
