How did Sam Kesselman die? What was his Cause of death?

Kesselman was riding a stand-up scooter on New Jersey Avenue and P Street in Northwest Washington D.C. when he was struck by a car that fled the scene. At the time of the accident, Kesselman was reportedly on his way to a work meeting.

Kesselman suffered a serious brain injury and was taken to Howard University Medical Center for treatment. He underwent surgery to remove swelling that had developed in his brain before being transferred to Johns Hopkins University Bayview hospital in Baltimore, where he was treated in a medically induced coma. Kesselman’s family described his brain damage as significant.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating the hit-and-run and has released a security video clip that shows a white Mazda CX-5 SUV, which they believe to be involved in the incident. It is unclear if the MPD has a license plate number for the vehicle. The Kesselmans were told that a metro bus equipped with a forward-facing camera may have captured the incident on camera. Stephen Kesselman, Sam’s father, believes that the driver must be held accountable for their actions.
